In this assignment, you will experience a full-length theater performance to explore and identify the intricacies of the production that allow the audience to enter in and feel a part of the created world. Then you will write a reflection paper that follows the five stages of looking: observation, description, explanation, interpretation, and evaluation. 1. As you watch, make notes about what you see, hear, and think by following the Five Stages of Looking Guide [DOWNLOAD]. 3. Guided by the notes you took while watching and responses to the related small group discussion, write a reflection paper that responds to the following prompts. o In your introduction, summarize the plot, characters, and setting of the performance. o What themes and issues does the performance explore or address? o What components of the performance (music, dance, theater technique) contribute to the audience’s understanding of the context and setting? o How do the music, dance, and theater techniques support the story, define characters, and develop the plot? o Conclude your paper with a brief evaluation of the overall performance. ?
